Terms of Use

1. What it is. StarDo is a self-discipline service (a task planner). You assign yourself a voluntary penalty in Telegram Stars for failing to complete your own task on time. This is NOT gambling, NOT a bet and NOT a financial service: there is no element of chance, the service does not influence the outcome of your task, and there are no payouts to users - it is impossible to receive money or Stars from the service under any outcome.

2. Penalty amount. You set the amount yourself when creating a task. The minimum is 5 Stars. Once the task is created, the amount can only be increased, never decreased. A task deadline can be moved once.

3. Payment (post-payment).
• When you create a task, you pay nothing.
• Completed the task on time - you pay nothing; your Stars stay with you.
• For 10 minutes after the deadline you can still mark the task as completed - this also counts as on time. Once the deadline has passed, you cannot move it, change the amount or delete the task.
• Not completed - the penalty becomes “awaiting payment”. Paying within 48 hours fully preserves your honor rating.
• Not paid within 48 hours - your honor rating decreases. The debt remains visible in the app and can be paid later - this partially restores the rating.
• Repeating task: each repetition is a separate task with its own deadline, and the penalty amount applies to each repetition separately. If three repetitions in a row are not completed and their penalties are not paid, the repeat is paused.

4. Refunds. Paying a penalty is the voluntary fulfillment of an obligation you set for yourself, so as a general rule it is not refunded. If you believe a payment went through because of a technical fault in the service - for example, Stars were charged twice, or a task completed on time went into debt because of a failure - contact /paysupport. Our support team reviews every request individually and decides on a refund. A refund requires a fault on our side; forgetting to mark a task as done, a change of plans or disagreement with the amount you set for yourself are not grounds for one. We may refuse a refund where there are signs of abuse. Refunds are made through Telegram and only for the whole payment. If a StarDo Plus subscription payment is refunded, the subscription is canceled and Plus ends at the moment of the refund. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

5. Payments. StarDo has three kinds of payments: voluntary contributions for your tasks (§3), the StarDo Plus subscription (§7) and decorations from the Star Shop (§8). All of them are made exclusively in Telegram Stars. The service is provided by the StarDo developer; Telegram is not a party to the relationship between you and the service and bears no responsibility for it. 6. Honor rating and saved Stars. A numeric indicator of how you fulfill your obligations. It grows with tasks completed on time and obligations paid, and decreases when a payment is missed. It is an internal metric of the service with no monetary value. Saved Stars is a counter showing the total penalty amounts set for tasks you completed on time. It is not a balance or an account with the service: you never paid these Stars, they simply remain yours in Telegram, so they cannot be withdrawn or exchanged through StarDo, and the counter itself has no monetary value.

7. StarDo Plus subscription. If you subscribe, the subscription is paid in Stars and renews automatically every 30 days. You can cancel at any time - in the app (Profile → Settings → Subscription) or in Telegram settings; access remains until the end of the paid period. The trial is given once: 7 days, or 14 for those who come with a friend's invite. For 12 friends who join with your link and use StarDo on at least three different days within their first 30 days, you get 30 days of Plus - once. Bonuses have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for Stars; inviting your own extra accounts and other attempts to game the count do not qualify, and a bonus obtained that way may be revoked.

8. Star Shop. In the app, you can buy decorations for your sky: mountains and an ocean on the horizon, nebulae among the stars and more.
• Decorations are purely cosmetic: they change only how your sky looks in StarDo. They give no advantage of any kind and do not affect your honor rating, your saved Stars or the stars in your sky, contributions or their amounts, task deadlines, achievements or the features of the StarDo Plus subscription.
• Buying a decoration is a separate purchase: it is neither a contribution for a task nor a subscription. It is not required to use the service - everything StarDo exists for works without it.
• The price in Stars is shown before payment - in the shop and in the invoice window. You know in advance exactly what you are buying: there are no random bundles or “surprises” in the shop.
• A decoration appears in your sky immediately after payment. By paying, you consent to receiving the decoration immediately and acknowledge that, once you have received it, any right the law may give you to withdraw from the purchase no longer applies - to the extent the law allows.
• By buying a decoration, you obtain the right to use it in StarDo for as long as your account exists. Decorations have no monetary value: they cannot be sold, transferred to another person or exchanged for Stars or money. We may improve how they look and how they are rendered without changing their substance.
• When your account is deleted, your decorations are deleted with it. They are not restored if you register again, and you are not compensated for their cost.
• Refunds for decorations follow the rules of §4: only in case of a technical fault, as decided by support. When a decoration is refunded, it disappears from your sky and from the “Mine” section.

9. Privacy. The content of your tasks is private and is used only to operate the service. Friends (whoever invited you, whoever you invited and whoever you became friends with by request) see only the picture of your sky, unless you turn that off in the settings. When you delete your account, tasks, projects and history are deleted. Only your honor rating, the record of a used trial period and your invite count stay linked to your Telegram account and are restored if you register again. Any contributions still unpaid at the time of deletion count as unpaid.

10. Voice input (StarDo Plus). A voice message sent to the bot or recorded in the app is passed to a third-party speech recognition and text parsing service in order to turn what you said into a task. The recording is not stored on our servers: it is processed in memory and discarded right after recognition. The recognized text is kept until you confirm or decline it, and no longer than one hour, after which it is deleted - only what you confirmed remains in the task. The feature is available with a subscription and during the trial period.

11. General. By paying for anything in StarDo you confirm your agreement with these terms (a reminder is shown in the payment window). Mark completion honestly - the service runs on trust. We may recalculate or cancel the honor rating, saved Stars and achievements obtained through manipulation (for example, by mass-marking tasks that were not actually done). The service is provided “as is”; the terms may be updated.

12. Design. StarDo's design uses stickers from the Hotter Otter set and animated emoji from Telegram sets. The rights to these materials belong to their respective owners; StarDo does not claim them as its own. Achievement icons are taken from the Material Symbols set (Google) and are used under the Apache 2.0 license; the numerals on the medals are set in the Nunito font under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
